Delivery

How we'll keep you COVID-safe this harvest

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, we’ve proactively reviewed our processes to keep you and your business safe this harvest, while minimising any impacts on our site efficiencies.

This harvest, a revised delivery process will be enforced across our east coast network to reduce human contact.

Almost all delivery functions are now contact-free but the integrity of our commitment to quality service has been maintained.

GrainCorp’s advanced contact-free technology platforms – FastWeigh for grain sampling and receival and CropConnect for digital transactions – are central to the revised plan, as are the changes to existing practises.

(Learn about CropConnect with our How-To videos here.)

The following processes are effective immediately at all GrainCorp receival sites:

1. MINIMISING MOVEMENT OF ALL GRAINCORP STAFF AND CUSTOMERS AT ALL TIMES

This includes (but not limited to) no access inside our sample stands and weighbridges.

We are particularly aiming to minimise movement of truck drivers on our sites.

Social distancing and hygiene measures will be enforced as standard practice at all sites.

2. USE OF THE UPDATED DELIVERY ADVICE FORM

An updated Delivery Advice form can be found here.

The Delivery Advice form must be used for:

a) Every delivered load to site, and;

b) Every sample to be tested.

Samples will need to be provided to GrainCorp in zip-lock bags.

We will test the sample and call or text you with results.

Please note: The Delivery Advice will be not be returned after use.

3. NO OPTION TO SELECT CASH OR TRANSFER GRAIN TO CONTRACTS AT SAMPLE STANDS OR WEIGHBRIDGES

All deliveries will be placed into warehousing and transferred via CropConnect or the Grower Hotline

(1800 GRAINS).

We will still collect NGR, paddock details, treatment status and Vendor Declarations at the sample stand or weighbridge and maintain active ‘live’ prices at our sites.

4. NO TRANSFER OF CLIPBOARDS AROUND THE SITE WITH DRIVERS

Any paperwork required will not be handed back or signed. The size of text on paperwork will be increased to assist in reading from a distance.

If you have any questions, please contact your local Site Manager or Grain Marketer, or call the Grower Hotline on 1800 GRAINS.

Croptimise your grain

Optimise the quality of your grain (and returns) with this simple process:

  • Get more for your grain.
  • Upgrade your warehoused tickets to adjacent higher grades.
  • Qualify through a three-criteria eligibility.
  • Call the Grower Hotline any time to check an eligible load.
  • SMS messages notify when you might have an eligible load.

GrainCorp Croptimiser is the simple way to optimise the quality of your warehoused grain this harvest – and increase your return.

Grain delivered into warehousing over harvest can benefit from quality equity available at the GrainCorp site of delivery.

Once you’ve built equity in your own warehoused grain, you may be eligible to upgrade your warehoused tickets to the adjacent higher grade.

How Croptimising works

Three criteria need to be met in order to Croptimise your warehoused grain:

  1. You need to build quality equity in the loads you have delivered. To build equity, you need to deliver a spread of grades to the same site that build quality above the minimum specification for their assigned grade.
  2. The load must be eligible. It can’t have been previously Croptimised and must be within 0.3% protein, 2kg/HL test weight and 1% screenings of the adjacent higher grade, as well as meeting all the variety, defect, contaminant and falling number parameters of the higher grade.
  3. The Site Stack Quality must allow for the eligible load to be upgraded. The Site Stack Quality is the average quality of all loads of the adjacent higher grade delivered to the same GNC site. There must be enough quality above the minimum specification of the adjacent higher grade to prevent the eligible load from reducing the Site Stack Quality below the minimum grade specification.

Ready? Here's how to get started

  • We’ll send through a scheduled notification twice each week to help identify if you have eligible loads.
  • Contact us at 1800 GRAINS to confirm your eligibility to upgrade, based on the three criteria;
  • The Grower Hotline will identify you using your NGR and registration details;
  • The Grower Hotline will only upgrade as per your instructions.
  • You can call our Grower Hotline during business hours to establish eligibility, plus we will send you email or SMS prompts on set days when you have eligible loads that could meet the three upgrade criteria.

Welcome to the warehouse...

Our services: Quality assurance, mobile trading, a long list of buyers and the potential to optimise your grain.

A system that works for you

  • Up to 3 months' free storage
  • Access an average of 15 buyers per site.
  • No-risk quality guarantee.
  • Optimise the quality of eligible loads.
  • Discover cash prices and transact on your phone.

When you deliver into a GrainCorp site, we offer control and access to valuable trading options. Our quality guarantee gives you peace of mind, plus you may qualify for up to 90 days of free storage.

Your Choices, Your Control

  1. Lock in your quality. We assume the quality risk when you deliver to a GrainCorp site. Our quality guarantee means, at a minimum, you sell your grain against your delivery ticket. You’ll never worry about quality risk.
  2. Optimise eligible loads. You also have the opportunity to upgrade eligible loads using our GrainCorp Croptimiser service. Available for hard wheat, barley and durum segments and grades, simply meet three upgrade quality criteria to have the option to optimise the quality of your warehoused grain — and potentially increase your return.
  3. Discover cash prices when and where you want. Discover and research prices seamlessly and sell your tickets from warehouse on CropConnect – GrainCorp’s free online cash marketplace. You can access CropConnect by visiting croptimiser.com.au or downloading the GrainCorp app.
  4. You’re in control of grain management. CropConnect helps you manage your grain in storage and sell it in our contestable and competitive marketplace.
  5. Access more than 100 buyers. Our open network attracts a diverse range of leading domestic and international buyers – more than 100 across the network and on-average 15 at every GrainCorp site.
  6. Control your marketing. CropConnect’s counter-bid functionality is designed to help you get the price you want. Start the counter-bid process by putting an offer price on your warehoused grain. This allows buyers to see your offer, and from there they can either auto-match, accept your offer or confidentially notify you with a counter-bid. By allowing ‘push’ notification messages via the GrainCorp app, your smart phone or tablet will alert you as soon as the counter-bid is placed.
  7. … and receive up to 3 months of free storage. For the balance of the month of delivery plus the two following months.

Barley Varieties

Our global supply chain services the world’s biggest brewers.

We've worked closely with domestic and international maltsters and brewers to gauge upcoming demand for the major varieties grown by the Australian barley industry. The Preferred Variety List is updated continuously in line with market demand. Combined with our involvement with various Australian grower and industry groups, we believe the current market preferences are for the below varieties.

National Grower Register (NGR) card

Important: you must present your NGR card when delivering

Growers or carriers must present a National Grower Registration (NGR) card for deliveries to GrainCorp sites. No other delivery cards can be accepted. For security reasons, NGR cards cannot be 'held' at any GrainCorp sample stand.

If you require more than one NGR card, phone:

1800 556 630 or visit www.ngr.com.au
